Star Trek 2 Movie in 2012

It is confirmed the Star Trek sequel will happen in 2012. This is the main reason why the reboot of Jack Ryan will not happen until Star Trek 2 is done. Chris Pine, who will be the main character for both said movies, will have a crunch time to shoot the movie before he put the uniform as Captain Kirk for the Star Trek sequel in August.

Alex Kurtzman , scriptwriter of the movie once commented:

"With a franchise rebirth, the first movie has to be about origin. But with a second, you have the opportunity to explore incredibly exciting things. We'll be ambitious about what we'll do."

Star Trek 2 is set for a June 29, 2012 release and director J.J. Abrams is not yet fully committed to direct.
